WINTER SWIMMERS

Madeleine Waller is een fotografe, woonachtig in Londen. Twee jaar geleden stond een serie van haar foto's in het VK Magazine. Nu de sneeuw weer in het land is, moest ik er weer aan denken. Wat een diehards, om met temperaturen onder nul het water in te gaan.

De foto's zijn genomen in the London Fields Lido. Waller was gefascineerd door het verschil in zwemkledij en normale kledij. Ze zette mensen in beide op de foto. De foto's buiten in de kou, waar de stoom van het bad slaat, zijn het indrukwekkendst.

'Originally from Australia, Madeleine has been living in London since 1987. Madeleine concentrates mainly on portaits or portrait sets. A selection of her Portraits of Poets is included in the National Portrait Gallery's Permanent Collection.

Beautiful pictures by Madeleine Waller, a London stationed photographer. She portaited people near the London Field Lido in their normal and swimming clothes. Two years ago a selection was posted in the VK Magazine, and I was reminded of them by the current cold. Especially the pictures near the pool, with the rising steam, cought my eye.
